Back in the Game

Well I have been full swing back into bootcamp & haphazardly preparing for the fall running season and the PF Changs 1/2 Marathon in January. However as of tonight I am getting back into full swing...purchased Nike+iPod which tracks distance, time, etc and also hooks into the iPod for those block rockin beats! I am downloading some new music purchased tonight and putting into playlists. It rained this evening, cooler weather blew in and tomorrow morning Riddick and I plan to do 3 miles or so testing out this new little gadget.

That being said, I am hoping to complete a few 5k's this fall, a 10mile in early December (which I have inquired to become a "buddy" for an 8-11 year old girl for the fall season and this event) and the PF Changs 1/2 Marathon in January. With the full running schedule not released for the fall yet, it is hard to plan.

Upcoming Events:

Labor Day weekend we are going to our friend Tyler's Bodybuilding Competition-everyone send their best wishes to the man with the most willpower that I know!! Then we are headed down to Tucson for the Chippewas vs. Wildcats football game~tailgating with fellow alumns and sitting in the first row behind the Chips is going to be awesome!

The first 5k is 9/13 I Did A Green Run ~ which is an environmental run, the giftbags consist of leftover swag from other runs!

We are headed to Rocky Pointe, MX the weekend of the 18th for Jake's 30th Birthday!! We have never been there and are excited to get away for a long weekend on the beach with some great friends!

There is also Susan G Komen on 10/11 that most likely will participate in because...
Also, everyone please keep Joey in your thoughts, she has been a strong fighter and the battle is concluding. She is being scanned the 1st week in September and should have final results shortly thereafter! She is my power when I run, she is my strength and my determination. When I get to that hit the wall point, when I want to quit and crawl back home, I think of Joey. If she can fight through her pain, then I can endure another lousy mile. Off to bed so I can get up while it is still cool and run....
