I haven't shared the news with too many people outside of the AZ, mostly because I thought Jacob would be released from the hospital and be sleeping in the "family bed". My coworker and close friend Kory has a family bed, Kory, her Boyfriend of forever, Brian, and their 2 boys, Jacob and Bryson, all share a "family bed", they have always slept together, the boys have their own beds and bedrooms, but they sleep with their parents, how sweet is that. Jacob collapsed at school last Friday, he went to Phoenix Children's hospital and was diagnosed with Brain AVM. We found out yesterday Jacob would not be going home. Jacob's spirit will be sleeping in the family bed each night, watching over his family, making sure they are all safe. It has been a long and rough road since last Friday-almost a week now, spending much of my time in the family waiting room at the hospital showing my support. I ask that everyone keep Kory and her family in your thoughts and minds. However there is a much better story to this, so stop sobbing.
Jacob was a true humanitarian, he did everything for this world, for the people he loved and cared for and even for people and beings that he didn't even know! Jacob was a miracle and a hero for so many! He was a true hero for the animals at the Humane Society on his 7th birthday, he wrote in his invitation that he would not like gifts this year, but he would like gifts for the animals in the shelter because they don't get a birthday!

He was a strong advocate for Children for a Safe Environment as well as many other organzations. He picketed and marched to end pollution. Do you know many 8 year olds with dedication and a heart like his?
Not only did Jacob have the heart of a hero, he was a son, a big brother, a grandson, a nephew and a very good friend to many people. Jacob was a kid that truly loved life for what it was and not for the monetary items that people buy to please themselves. He had the biggest heart of any boy I know!
Because of his huge heart, his parents decided that Jacob would love to donate his organs, he will save at least 8 lives by doing so. 8 Lives! Adults and children will be receiving his organs early tomorrow morning for 8 hours they will be in surgery. Jacob is a legacy and he was sent here to touch so many hearts and he will touch even more people through his organs. At 8 years old he saves 8 lives in 8 hours! His parents are terribly numb over the whole thing however it is bittersweet that he gets to continue to save lives and touch others. They are very pleased they have this opportunity and it does make the relieve the situation somewhat.
Jacob's school is fulfilling his birthday wish for this year, they are hosting a toy drive to donate to Phoenix Childrens Hospital, this was Jacob's choice prior to him being admitted at the hospital! How ironic is that! He wanted toys/blankets/necessities to be donated to the children at the hospital. His school is hosting the toy drive, but many others in the community have been touched and will be collecting toys also!
Please use this time to check the organ donation box and to make it known that you want your organs donated if anything were to happen. In the situation, it is a difficult choice to make, if you already have it made, then it will be much easier! How could you not want to save up to 8 lives? How could you possibly turn that opportunity down? Do it in honor of Jacob? If you knew him he would make you smile and touch your heart and you would never forget him.
This was my longest post ever, because Jacob was an amazing child!!!!!! I can't stop writing about him!
